I have been to Paris twice.
It is a wonderful city to visit, and there’s almost too much to see and do. My advice is to always get off the beaten track. Of course, you should see the Eiffel Tower, visit all the museums and churches you’ve always wanted to visit. But you also make a little time to get away from the crowds and see a slice of Paris that’s guaranteed to create lasting memories.
Here’s a personal story. On our last visit, we tromped around the Latin Quarter, just wandering the streets, getting a little lost, and having a terrific time. I am a sucker for second hand shops, and we happened upon a little one in the Latin Quarter. With luggage space being at a premium, I had to select a few small items from the many I really wanted. I found a basket full of vintage keychains that made wonderful, unique gifts for family and friends. You certainly would not find those in the more touristy areas of the city.
