This Airbnb Scam Will Ruin Your Vacation — and Your Budget

I‘ve used Airbnb a few times, and my experiences have been good. Some of the places did not measure up to their photos or descriptions, but I always expect that to happen, so I wasn’t surprised. And the places were never so horrible that I wouldn’t stay in them. Maybe my standards aren’t high enough!

But, I’ve been lucky, too. I have never been scammed.

Imagine making a booking for several thousand dollars and then finding out that you have lost it all. Now, it is possible that your credit card company could investigate and return your money, but there are no guarantees.
